RACHEL :: FORT WORTH BRIDALS

Do you remember Rachel from the engagements? Isn't she gorgeous?! And channeling old Hollywood?

If you've ever had the pleasure of meeting Rachel, you know she can be a little shy and quiet. Personally, I thought I scared her. But I realized this past weekend shooting her phenomenal wedding that she is reserved, observant, smart, funny, and classy. She is somewhat of a free spirit and her hair-style fit her perfectly. Well, EVERYTHING fit her perfectly... from the shoes, to the polish, to the florals to the absolutely STUNNING gown. Just a beauty and a caring heart. I was so thankful to be a part of such an important event!

She's a person that makes you feel calm. Makes you feel the still and the quiet. And appreciate it.

Makes you wonder if her soul was from a different era.

Lastly, what I learned about Rachel... is that she is all of the above... until you get her on the dance floor :) She's still elegant, perhaps not quite as reserved. That's why there's so much to love!

Can't wait to share some of the pics from the wedding! Theo and Rachel are amazing and it was nothing short of beautiful.

What an amazing opportunity to shoot this family's portraits! :)

Cole and Courtnie were naturals in front of the lens.

What I loved most was that this family enjoyed to have fun. There was laughter and joy. {which made getting up early to beat the Texas heat a little more tolerable} ;)

I LOVE faces. Especially these faces. Courtnie, I hope you know how beautiful you are. Always. I absolutely adore your freckles. Your smile and of course your eyes.

Cole, you seem to be up for an adventure and I hope you keep that same spirit. You are very warm and certainly a handsome young man.

CONGRATULATIONS Mr. & Mrs!!

I can't wait to share this lovely wedding with you from this past weekend. Austin was just beautiful and Craig was beaming. I especially loved meeting the families!

The ceremony and reception took place at St. Vincent's, in Arlington. What a glorious gift is love! I am so incredibly blessed to be invited to share with couples and their families, before God, to be a witness to such love. It is inspiring. Thank you so much for letting us be a part of this amazing moment and for trusting us to capture it. Everything about this day touched our hearts... and our souls.

Now have fun on your adventure, crazy kids! More will be posted.

I'm starting to think there's something in Plano's water. I'm going to start hoarding it and possibly selling it... there are truly some outstanding, talented, and gorgeous folks in Plano.

Okay, so maybe it's not the water.

Erin, you have one of the most beautiful smiles I've ever seen. Make sure you thank your parents ;) And, keep that smile... always. I know you are headed on a wonderful path and the world is yours.

What a week! Who needs the royal wedding when you have the wedding of Theo and Rachel, in Fort Worth, to look forward to?!

It has been such a pleasure so far to work with this couple. I don't think I've met a more laid-back couple planning a wedding. :) I am amazed with your composure and willingness to be open to ideas. I love hearing about your history, how you're incorporating your personalities into the wedding and just learning more about you guys!

This hidden gem of a spot, in Fort Worth, is gorgeous! What a perfect setting for a proposal... I can't thank you enough for sharing this with me. I could feel how special this place is to you both and the backdrop couldn't be more beautiful.

Details, Details, and more Details!

From the moment I received my first email from Erica... I knew this was going to be my photo shoot soulmate! She warmed my heart and instantly put a smile on my face. And that's really how it was for every email I ever got from her {not that the rest of yous don't do that} ;)

I couldn't believe I found someone as passionate about props, vintage goodies, a cool love story... and just having fun!

Have you guys figured out this cool theme yet?!

They were SO much fun and inspiring! We clicked... like I had known them my whole life (I just hope I didn't scare you guys too much).

I am still doing my *happy dance* as I type... this kinda stuff gets me giddy. Okay okay, anything photography related gets me giddy. Just ask my hubby who probably thinks I'm a little crazy-- and STILL loves me! ha.

Anyway, I can't wait to share the rest of the shoot with everyone. So, go ahead and guess. Hurry, I'm the impatient type...

Nope, these GORGEOUS gals are not models {although they should be}. Meet Lili and Emily. Beautiful sisters both graduating this year!

Dad (and Mom) you guys should be so proud. In my short time with them I was so impressed... with their confidence, their humor, their ambition and just their overall outstanding personalities to go along with those model looks! Mr. Matos, I'm sure they keep you busy ;) Thank you, too, for joining us on that afternoon!!

Lili is about to graduate from TX A&M and will be teaching high school history...

Emily will be graduating from Plano High and wishes to go to school to become a nurse...

of course this is after Lili becomes an Anthropologie model...

and Emily a 'fun-in-the-sun' beach gal model :)

I can't believe there are SO many wonderful photos... this is just the beginning, so stay tuned for more!! I had a blast at the dallas arboretum and am so glad I had the opportunity. Thank you Karla! I can't wait to meet you (and your son) for some family pictures in the future. Y'all are just a stunning family, in so many ways.

E-sesh: Craig & Austin

Remember them?! Yes! Craig and Austin, the soon to be Mr. & Mrs. It sure did take me awhile to narrow down the picture choices to post. This adorable couple had so many great shots I found myself to be like a kid trying to make an ice cream choice. Decisions decisions...

Speaking of ice cream... remember me telling you that they had an awesome engagement story?! Well I LOVE hearing them, especially when the guy goes through such elaborate plans to make it so special.

I'll keep it brief {you should really hear it from them, because their faces truly light up when telling it- and I have the memory of a gnat, so my apologies ahead of time if I am incorrect on any of the details}. ;) Craig planned a trip to the blue bell mecca. He called ahead and told them that he wanted to propose to his lovely girlfriend. Well, he decided that they were going to go on a tour and the guide was to have a "winner" that would receive free ice cream. Austin, as indecisive as most women, finally settled on a flavor... and to her surprise... found a proposal!!! Woohoo!

Special note: it is a little blurry... but do you see that the carton's flavor is "wedding cake?" Bluebell doesn't make it anymore, but did indeed give an extra empty carton to the couple, which came in handy for this shoot!

Aren't they sweet? Anyway, back to the shoot...

As any self-respecting cowboy in DFW would do, we ran around Fort Worth- thanks, y'all for being such great sports!

Sunflowers are their flowers of choice and the wedding colors are blue and yellow. They had such great ideas for incorporating their special touches... it was such a joy!

They truly made it easy to take pictures. So inspiring!

Round Top is TOP!

Welcome to Texas y'all! Where the shopping is THE best {you get so excited you leave your keys in your ignition} and the people are so nice {that it's all still there, intact, after your shopping extravaganza}!!! =)

Let me tell you, briefly, about an AMAZING place called Round top, Texas.

First of all you better make sure you have on some comfy shoes. From Warrenton to "Leftovers" you have MILES and MILES of vendors. Brings bags, water and a lovely cart is a must too!!

I would have taken more pictures, SORRY, but my hands were full of vintage goodness in one hand and a loaded bbq baked potato in the other. Now if you think I was going to risk losing either one of those things... you gotta be crazy.

So... back to shopping. There is everything you can think of and more.... and then maybe some more. Pure Paradise! There is so much that there is no possible way you could cover everything in a few days!!! And I don't think my poor little legs could even hold up for that long.

Luckily, I do have time to prepare for the next Round Top adventure. Check it out!! Twice a year, it is a definite must.

But I have to say what made it even more special for me... was hanging out with this beautiful and talented artist {okay, she also happens to be my mother-in-love}. Thank you so much for such a wonderful weekend, Roxi. I adore you and had so much fun!!! Can't wait for Round Top Round II at the end of Sept.

I'll make sure I'll have my feet trained, my carrying arm stronger... and maybe better haggling skills. Love you! xoxo

Spring!

We interrupt the wedding festivities momentarily to share this important message...

It's SPRING!!!!

I'm sure you already knew that... the flowers are out and the sun is shining {although, not so much today}. The bluebonnets should be out in full force soon... do I hear bb photoshoot in the works, I hope so?!

Anyhew.... last year Clint and I decided to plant a few things to kinda spruce up our naked yard. He's kinda handy and, surprisingly, has a green thumb! I, on the other hand, grab the bulbs that 'look pretty' and sprinkle randomly in the garden. =) Love is all you need, right? Well, in some cases YES! Our nectarine tree is thriving (pic on the very top) and tulips are coming up... and I can't wait to see the hydrangeas soon.

Gardening is a lot of fun and something that you can definitely enjoy the fruits of your labor {just don't get me started on weeding- NOT something I enjoy and my body is still paying for it this morning}

but it does make your backyard even better when you have this cute helper!!! Meet Coco... our family of 3 (including Tank) just grew to 4. Isn't she ADORABLE?!

A mini schnauzer and not short on personality. She's smart (umm, hello potty training made easy) and wakes you up with kisses!

Spring has sprung and the Spradlin household is enjoying every moment of it- come join us on the patio soon! xoxo

Engagement Teaser

Meet Craig and Austin. This past weekend we had a lovely afternoon hopping around Fort Worth... complete with props, my fav! ;) So get ready folks- I'm already shrieking with excitement!!

Right from the beginning they were comfortable, relaxed and ready to go! There are so many awesome pictures it will be hard to narrow them down to share with yall. It was certainly a fun afternoon and I am inspired by the love they share with each other. It was an honor to capture these fun moments.

A Wedding Shower A Man Could Love?!

{insert home improvement store here} Shower!!!! Have I mentioned how incredibly creative and inspiring Texas women are?! Okay, I won't limit it to just Texas... but I'm pretty lucky to be friends with (and/or related to) some pretty awesome people.

and lets be honest... after the frenzy, the wedding festivities, and the unpacking... most of us brides seem to forget all about those lovely must-have household items. Don't get me wrong, I personally love EVERY single utensil, china, gift we received but no one mentioned to me how much a gardening hose is! Or, how often we go to said store in a weekend- every weekend! Or so it feels like that sometimes.

This shower, to me and I'm sure the fellas, was just brilliant!

So... beautiful, thoughtful, generous, creative women united to throw this spectacular shindig for the Mr. & Mrs. To-Be.

*p.s. honorable mention: dave's bbq in arlington = yum!

i want to share a story with yall that a coworker and dear friend shared with me {thanks, Deanne!}.

meet katie & chris. it's hard to imagine, but a week before all of this snow and ice... was a gorgeous afternoon that felt like summer...

their story begins at smu in dallas... and this campus felt like we were in a fairytale.

they were fun and fearless, and i just know that your marriage will be a great adventure.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO TWO OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL GALS I KNOW!!!! I am SO blessed to call you sisters [in love]. Meet Kim [Clint] and Beth. =) Separated by a couple years and born on the same day! What a gift to share with each other.

As most of you know, last year I married the love of my life, Clint. Well more than just gaining a husband... I gained a family, quite a large family too, and it just couldn't be more perfect! Not only have I always wanted a large family, but I've always wanted sisters. Seriously- ask my mother. What kid asked, no BEGGED, for OLDER sisters all growing up?! (I was the oldest, by a year, to my amazing brother Toady).

Well, God couldn't have provided more AMAZING, sweet, thoughtful, generous, smart, creative, loving, patient, and beautiful sisters!!

Well, first, meet Beth (on the right next to my childhood friend Grace!). She's the first born. Which definitely makes her an automatic leader in my book... she's organized, prepared, ambitious, never forgets a special day for anyone, and is the wonderful mother of two fantastical little girls! On top of being a quality of life coordinator {I love that, Beth} she has a blog and a new business that I stalk often. =) Check it out! bethanysaxtonphotography.blogspot.com and bethandcompany.blogspot.com!! Contact her if you are ever in the San Antonio area because this lady is talented!!!!!!! Beth, you are one of the most thoughtful people I have ever come in contact with. Thank you for welcoming me so quickly and for sharing your love. I can't wait to spend more time with you and my nieces (Nate too of course)!

Now, meet middle sibling Kim. Where to start... =) I guess the first thing that comes to mind is fun and laughter. You have no idea how much I admire your humor, your spontaneity, and that you just don't take life too seriously. I find that to be a gift in and of itself... but of course you encompass so many more wonderful traits!! This beautiful lady just opened TWO businesses (http://www.bellabridesmaid.com/ in Austin and San Antonio!!!) all while finishing her degree and being "mom" to two adorable doggies. i've always believed that each person you come in contact with is put in your life for a reason. this person might be to help with something: a lesson, a heartache, an opportunity... whatever the case may be, it might not be a coincidence. it might be for whatever you are in need of at the moment. AND THEN, there are those folks that you meet, that TOUCH YOUR SOUL, and you just know that they weren't meant to be in your life for just a moment... but for many moments. that's how i felt about Shawn and Rachel... and their little football brood ;)

{for you texans out there, please forgive their OK ways, we're trying to change that!}

everything about them just warms my heart. we all met in Washington DC when Shawn and my hubby were working together for the Marine Corps. we soon realized that Rachel and I grew up just minutes from each other in southern california... and we both couldn't wait to settle in cowboy country (where manners, a southern accent, and chicken fried steak were the norm). yeah, we're weird. back to the story, we were meant to be friends... whether they liked it or not!

they have three adorable boys... that are loving, smart, funny, athletic, disciplined, helpful, gracious, and an all around good time! if clint and i could be guaranteed boys like them (and I, a body like hers) we might be in more of a hurry to have kids soon ;)

anyhew, they recently visited the lone star state and i thoroughly hope they enjoyed the hearty 'welcome!' we would selfishly love nothing more than for them to move on down here
